of Birthdays

Birthdays - Alex and Mine :)
Had a family dinner at the much-raved about 2D1N Soju Bang.
This was the crowd at 5.15pm..
And the shop actually opens at 5.30pm.

Luckily for us, we had reached early and had registered our names :)
So a table of 6 was still possible for us!

Here's B and I taking a pic while waiting!

Inside the shophouse and bbq-ing food

Overall, I would think Soju Bang is worth the wait!
The beef was the most yummy, as B had raved about previously. lol!
The marinated beef was really just too good to miss! =D

------

After dinner, we decided to pop by the flyer!
The night scenery was real pretty :)

Even though I spend quite a bomb for the flyer tickets,
I thought it was worth it :)
Kind of hard to pull the family out for such stuff. lol.

------

And I finally gave B his Vday present today! :)
Very belated, but at least it was well the wait yaaa? ;)

And so, the weekend is overrrr (again)!
I'll have a hectic and exciting week ahead :)
Kind of looking forward to tmr,
cuz I'm expecting confirmation of a piece of good news.
Till the next, good night and have a fab week ahead ppl!

Feb Feb, I love youuu :)

1.5 weeks have whizzed past since my last entry.
At the rate time is speeding, Feb will be gone before I know it. lol.
Feb is an exciting month, I must say.
Always have been, with CNY, Vday, Bdays.
But this year esp so, cuz the new FY is coming..
So there are many changes ongoing work-wise too.

So what's upp in these 2 weeks? :)
Well, there was Hongkai's leaving on Wed for further studies,
but I couldn't take leave to send him off =x
There was the dancesies gathering on Fri,
where it was a crazy night of laughing at Minds Cafe.
I will never forget mao's "ultraman trying to cheat" charade. lol!
There was Alex's 21st Bday celebration on Saturday,
B's Dragonboat gathering on Sunday where B & I took turns to mahjong away the night..
And we won $7! woo! =D
Not bad for me already *ahem

Monday was Vday; we didn't exactly celebrate it.
But he gave me a bouquet of roses he assembled himself :)
His engine gang of friends had went together to an orchard to pick roses,
and they gathered again to assemble their respective bouquets!
How cute is that. lol! :)
Erm, I'm still making his present *don't kill me, b
But well, I had given him the Spa Infinity treat earlier as an advanced vday present!
That was part of his present. lol!
But looks like he forgot about it alr :/
We had a simple Jap dinner at Ishi-Mura after work..
Just earlier in the day, the HDB ppl celebrated 2 interns' birthday at Ichiban Boshi..
So it was like one whole day worth of Jap food for me..
*sinful

Tuesday, I came home to find the family playing MJ.
Surprise surprise! So I joined in after washing up.
Played 3 whole hours of MJ.. lol!
But it was fun :)
I guess my bro wanted to play, so my parents kind of obliged.
Bro's on block leave till today.
He won the most in the end,
and I was like their Chai Sen Ye who keeps giving out money -_-

Today was supposed to go Danzppl with Jx,
but I wasn't feeling well and she had smth on,
so we decided to postpone dance.
The thing is, my expenditure this month is going to be crazy,
cuz $400 is going to be used for purchasing a pair of earrings Mumsie got for me.
I lost one of the earrings, and the worst is that I don't know where I lost it.
I had left them inside the coin compartment of my wallet,
and hadn't realized that there are 2 openings at each sides of the wallet.
So that's how the earring dropped out I guess. Boo :(
It's the pair I really really like.
And I was lucky enough to have found it in Lee Hwa Jewellery in Vivo branch.
The salesman told me there are only 4 pairs left in Singapore cuz it's an old design.
And I still have to wait for him to transfer it over to the Vivo branch.
Till today, he hasn't called me =x
Maybe I'll drop them a call tmr.
Sigh. $400 is such a heavy price to pay for carelessness.
So with $400 gone, I feel the pinch to pay for dance classes.
But I'm kind of determined to get dancing again after so long,
so I shall not postpone it cuz of money.

Mm. My update on work..
Earlier this month,
I had asked my boss to transfer me out of my dept,
and she has arranged for me a meeting with the Director of the dept I want to go into.
She told me that yday, and I was simply over the moon to hear this news :)
It's rare that a new recruit can get transferred across depts,
and I can only be thankful to be given this chance.
The good thing about being in this current unit is that I can pull strings :)
That's provided if I play my cards right..
Well, the interview is on Friday, so I hope I don't blow my own chances

Around 3 hours after she told me about this news,
People's Association called me and asked me down for an interview this coming wed.
It's a post that I'm quite keen on also..
It's called Senior Programmes Officer (Interest Group),
which I assume to be like proposing new interest groups and executing them,
mainly events kind of projects.. which is what I'm looking for..

Well, if I'm looking at both in the most positive manner,
that scenario would be receiving a job offer from both parties..
Then the question to follow will be.. which should I choose?
To remain in HDB,
for the love of the culture, people and environment,
or to hop to PA,
for a fresh new change and the optimism for it to be a better place than HDB?

Mm.. Honestly, I don't know.
I'll just see how as I go along..
So wish me luck people :)
Shall end off with this random picture..
Rmb I had mentioned about helping B with assembling his sofa?
Well, I had a tough time stuffing the cushions inside the covers.
lol.

my CNY 2011

The long CNY break is over in a wink :(
But I thought the break was timely and it made me freshen up much more.
The days just before CNY weren't good for me.
But as the saying goes; the only way to go after you hit rock bottom, is upwards :)
Yea, things are definitely looking better now..
Not solved, but well, better :)

As a kid, I've loved CNY.
There's the whole feast to look forward to,
people for you to kpo about,
people-watch as everyone dones their best dress,
and well, play MJ!
That's exactly what I did yet again (but absolutely loving it) this year. lol!
This year's even more special than previous years,
cuz cousins started to bring their other halves.
I still remember the days when my younger aunts brought their bfs,
to think their kids are all so old already!
Now, it's our turns to bring ours. lol!
Jeremy brought his wife, another cousin's bf came too.
And guess what, B came to visit too!
Surprise surprise (:
Then we popped by his grandma's for awhile too before I call it a day.
He was the energetic one, who still went for a midnight movie. lol
Me? I needed my beauty sleep :P

Chu er.
I happily woke up really late.
And was still not too late to help my mum prepare for the steamboat dinner.
She was very funny in trying to rope my help.
She asked "Do you think carrots should be added to the soup base?"
Me: "Ya! It will definitely taste nicer with carrots in!"
Her *pause for a moment* : "oh, why dont you cut the carrots then"
lol!!! so smart of her right!!! lol!

Then after helping her with all the shredding, peeling, cutting,
I went to watch Junior Masterchef Australia on youtube.
omg, the kids are sooo good!
The best part is, the recipes for the stuff they cooked are posted--> online (Scroll over)
Can't wait to lay my hands on trying one of the recipes one day (:

After finishing up all the preparation and waiting for B and my bro's gf to arrive,
my whole family played mj.
This is the first time, cuz my mum doesnt fancy mj. lol.
And all the while, she kept whining about why B isn't here yet to save her.
Then it was MJ till dinner time, then B had to go shortly after. humph.
The rest of us played MJ till night fall though.
I almost got 13 yao, but a stupid mistake on my part made me lose that 13 yao :(
oh well, at least I won money at the end (: whee!

Chu San.
It was Saturday and I practically rested the day away.
Too much festivities ain't good for my body. lol.

Chu Si.
Decided to bring my mum to watch "It's a Great Great World"
Cuz I know she will be all alone at home again if I don't bring her out.
Alex's out, Daddy went for wedding banquet.
Didn't like the idea of all of us abandoning her after all her hard work during this CNY.
So I decided to be a good daughter (haven't been one for a long time),
and go out with her (:
Could tell she enjoyed herself even though the itinerary was really simple.
Plus, we were sitting at the 2nd row from the front.
She didn't mind at all. lol.
The movie is good; one of the best local films I've seen.
Good portrayal, lovely angles, flamboyant colors, vintage settings, lovely vocals,
there's almost nothing not to like about this film.
It may not be Hollywood standard,
but nothing beats that nostalgic and heartwarming feeling.
Definitely worth catching.
Psst - there must be a reason why this film is a sold-out for many days straight ya? ;)

After spending half the day with mumsie, my day still hadn't ended!
Had gone to Ikea with B thereafter to buy a nice sofa for his room.
Red sofa! :) Pretty!
He had thought about getting a sofa for the longest time.
And we had fun lugging the big box back and assembling the sofa (:

With that, there goes my 4-days break. lol.
Went to office and realized there's just half manpower for the day.
Many just can't help but wish the break is longer ya? ;)

Mm.. Time is really flying.
B's younger bro is flying for his uni studies this Wed.
Jess will be (if not already) very very sad, I guess.
And to think it wasn't too long ago when they were also there to send B to Germany.
At that time, Jess was still telling me that her turn will come, but not so soon.
But ta-dah, it's already here. Goodness.
I really hope they have the strength to pull thru this LDR..
But I have to admit the conditions of long distance isn't good for any relationship.
Oh well, only time can tell.
We can only hope for the best for them.

Happy New Year to all! :)))
Psst, I'm so in love with OPI-Katy Perry's Teenage dream! =D

May this Lunar New Year bring about more happiness!
My next 12 years life cycle is now hereeeee :)
