New Beginning

It has been an eventful week..
My last week in HR, and the unofficial start of life in a new dept.
Shall talk about HR first :)
My unit people had given me a lovely farewell gift,
and the HR girls have given me a lunch treat on top of that.
Was really touched about the gift,
all everyone chipped in, and gave me a card too :)
Hai, I miss the girls already.

A nice pic I ripped off online for the Swarovski earrings they gave me :)

No longer a desk I can call mine :'(

Ribeye steak for lunch treat :)

Paradise Land

After the Singapore Zoo, we went to Jurong Bird Park (:
But alas, the weather wasn't kind.
So basically, we were wet/damp the whole day.
Wasn't a good feeling.
But at least the birds didn't go into hiding.
They just stood there, as though the pitter-patter of the rain weren't existent at all.

I don't have alot of pictures in my cam,
but Hs took quite abit.
So go check out on Fb the birds' pic which he took (:

There is just 2 particular pics that I want to put up.
There is this place called Lory's Loft,
where this area is filled with Lory Birds.
Then you can buy this pollen water thing to feed the birds =x
Imagine my horror to have birds whooping, flying and chirping all over me.

Yes, that's me with my arm fully extended.. lol

That's the boy who's best friends with the birds.

There was one particular incident that was quite funny.
There was a bird busy pecking at the pollen water,
then Hs was like "Can I touch you?" before moving his hand to try to touch the bird.
The poor bird was so stunned that it looked at him,
then faster hopped sideways.
Then it attempted to peck at his hand. lol!
And squawked at him when it failed to peck him.
Then Hs was like "orh la orh la! ok! don't touch you ok!"
The bird seemed to understand,
and went back to drink the pollen water. lol! :)

Overall, it was a pleasant experience :)
I love the penguins the most!

Zoo!

--- Updated! ---

Yes, we visited the Singapore Zoo :)))
Had decided it a few weeks ago that we should be all touristy,
and to revisit the places of interest we went during our childhood.
The first we went, was of cuz, the zoo!

From memory, I had thought that the animals are always in hiding..
so that would mean it's quite pointless to squint and look for them.
But surprisingly, the animals are all out!
They aren't shy at all, and the best thing is,
there are more angles to look at them now.
Cuz they have made available these air-con huts
with glass panes for ppl to look into the enclosures :)

Even though the weather blew hot and cold,
our moods weren't really dampened!
Pictures time :)

Next up, we will be visiting Jurong Bird Park & Night Safari!
Had bought the 3-in-1 package :)
Hope we won't get too tired of animals at the end of this month! lol!

------

On Friday night, my dept had booked a Goldclass Theatre at Vivo.
We caught The Adjustment Bureau (fantastic film!)
and we got VIP treatment for the approximate 2 hours :))
Just let me gush about it alright ;)
The seat was biggg and super comfy!
And there is a button to raise the bottom part of the seat,
so I was practically in a sleeping position on the chair!
What's even better is that a blanket was provided! :D

The seat aside, we had a 3-course dinner thrown in too!
Had chosen the Pumpkin Bisque, Goldclass Beef Burger, and the Opera Dessert.
The Pumpkin bisque was fab; thick and very velvety smooth.
I'm normally quite picky about the temperature of soups,
and was pleasantly surprised to realize that it was hot enough for my liking :)
The Goldclass Beef burger was a letdown though,
the beef patty was dry, and saltish.
Plus the meat crumbled very easilyy..
The Carl's Junior burger wins over this hands-down.
Well, at least the side dish of potato wedges made up for it..
They were crisp, hot and not soggy at all :)
The Opera dessert is basically this almond and chocolate layered cake.
Not bad, but felt it was overly sweet.
Heard that the tiramisu was better... lol!

Overall, I was really happy with the whole experience!
To think that the seat alone cost like $36 on Fri-Sun!
Goodness, that is excluding food =x
Really appreciated the dept's efforts at giving us welfare :)
It was a really great way to unwind with colleagues on a Friday evening!

After the movie, the younger ones (like myself) decided to shop ard.
It was so much fun :))))
Laughing at every other thing, being on the same frequency,
talking and doing silly things like playing with a toy magic crystal ball. lol.

In retrospect, I know all these fun will be dearly missed after I transfer out.
But that being said, I still have the chance to see and mix with them,
esp during our Monopoly lunch dates. lol!
Oh, I haven't mentioned this; we play Monopoly Deal every lunch time.
We will dapao food back, gather at the common meeting room..
Eat, chat, and play monopoly deal. =D
Tell me, where else can I find such fab colleagues? ;)
I guess they are mainly the reason why I'm not leaving my company :)

Tmr's Monday again,
but strangely, I'm already looking forward to it :)))

Stars shining bright above you, night breezes seem to whisper, "I love you".
Birds singing in the sycamore tree, dream a little dream of me.
Say nighty-night and kiss me. Just hold me tight and tell me you'll miss me.
While I'm alone and blue as can be, dream a little dream of me...

Claudine

It's Claudine's last day with us ):
She's the first amongst the lunch clique to leave..
But she's leaving because she will be starting studies,
and that she is gg to help in her family's business.
So I guess it's a happy farewell rather than a sad one.

The next to leave the clique.. will be myself.
I'm transferring out of my department only,
so technically I'm not really leaving.
The date has been confirmed to be 28 March 11 :)
Thankful to have gotten the transfer successfully.
I hope this time round, I will love what I'm doing.
