I love Sundays like this.

Bliss is waking up at 11am,
and feeling no guilt to go back to sleep again at 12pm.
With the raindrops lullaby complementing the mood for snoozing.

Ambivalence is when you know it's not right,
yet it's not wrong either.
You can choose to let that feeling go, or pursue it and,
still having to let go ultimately.

Comfort is when you're left alone in your own thoughts,
never mind if it may lead to destructive thoughts,
for it's better to know what you're doing,
than blindly follow and commit mistakes.

Tolerance is when you do things,
when you don't really feel like doing,
but you know it's for the greater good,
or that it carries a certain weight in your heart.

Freedom is when you cast everything aside,
and be selfish for a day.
Ignoring everything and do whatever you wish.

.

I will miss the girls.
But I know there's no turning back.

We're all afraid of the unknown.
But who know if it may be paradise previously untold.

Good night y'all.

the cny is coming!

We made CNY Pineapple tarts today (:
So pretty right!!
Other than the normal looking pineapple tarts,
Jess and I made "special" shaped pineapple tarts! =D

Some in above pic does not have the pineapple fillings,
cuz we ran out of the pineapple jam,
and had so much dough left,
that Jess and I used them to mould into whatever we like. lol!
As B's mum said to her friend on the phone:
"They are like playing with art clay". lol!

The odd one out above is looking adorable isn't it? lol!
I was trying to make a mould of monkey the doggie
But looks more like Bobdog instead.

This is Binky lookalike!

Binky lookalike after baking (:
B had glazed the eye bags area and ears so it looks even more like Binky

This is Monkey wannabe. lol!

Monkey wannabe after baking! =D

It was so fun baking! :)
Last week was Kueh bangkit and love letters,
this week is Pineapple tarts!
Can't believe CNY is so near already :)

On a sidenote, we had gone JB yday..
It reminds me alot of Singapore.
City Square and KSL Mall.
But the prices aren't exactly cheap per se.
I think it's more of the movies, restaurants.
Shopping wise, not really.
Got a pair of shoes for mumsie at RM49.90 (S$21)
Redpackets of 6 at RM2.40 each (S$1)
Mumsie was saying that in Singapore, red packets are going for 3packets for $2.
Meaning, it's actually cheaper to get in Singapore. lol.
Got a pretty glass container of super yummy cny almond cookies at RM27 (S$11.50)
And some random sweets from Action City.
Lunch was at this place called Sushi-King.
Well, standards not there at all.
So, if anyone's heading for City Square,
don't go for it! lol!
Overall, I think it's quite an eye-opener (:
Never realized that M'sia is so modern already!

With this, my weekend has (again) flew past!
It's MONDAY AGAIN!!
boohoo.

Regina IPL

I have something good to share!!!
The above shop called Regina is having this $128 promo for its two new outlets.
And the thing is I've gone ahead with it today,
so I can give a true account on how it was like (:

Honestly, when I first saw the above banner on cozycot,
I thought it was yet another lure-customer-in-then-make-you-buy-big-package shop,
but I chanced upon the thread on FPL Permanent Hair removal on Cozycot too,
and thus read about other ladies' reviews.
Some tried Musee, some tried Regina.
These were the two most popular and affordable ones.
So I was thinking, since Regina is having a promo,
why don't I try it out?

So ydayd, I called the Central outlet as J8's one isn't opened for operation yet.
A Jap lady picked up the phone,
and I found out that I can't make get the $128 promotion at the Central's outlet.
It's going for $388 for the same package.
She told me to try calling J8's outlet on monday as it would be open then
But I decided to try my luck and called the J8 outlet.
No one picked up.
I tried again today.
This time I got through to the beauty consultant.
Was so happy when she agreed to let me have my appointment today!
So off I went after work.

Ok. Review time.
The customer service was good.
My beauty consultant was a jap lady.
Her english is pretty decent, just that she has a heavy jap accent.
But she can catch up with my speed of speaking,
so I think it's fine (:
No language barrier of any sort.
I had to fill in a form, after which she had a small chat with me..
To find out if I have skin allergies etc.
She's really friendly and sincere too.
When she heard that I only wanted to try the underarm treatment,
she didn't hard-sell or turn cold or whatsoever,
instead she went "ok! so are we ready to start?"
And she was very nice through out (:

Treatment service.
Another lady took over.
She's a local malay young lady, but she is experienced.
She did an allergy test on me first to see if I'm suitable for the treatment.
Turned out ok, so I did both underarms (:
They will first cleanse, then spread this cooling gel thing,
then use the machine to zap at your underarms.
But no pain felt at all.
She was also very meticulous and kept asking if I'm cold, is it painful etc.
And everything was done in just 30mins!
I was told the next treatments will be even shorter
cuz no more allergy test required!
The effects are pretty obvious to me (:
Really great for a first treatment!

The best part is that it's unlimited treatments package for just $128.
Well, there is a gap of 8 weeks between treatments,
but I guess that's cuz the frequency can't been too often.
Honestly, $128 is such a good deal (:
To think that such IPL for underarms would cost like $600+ for 10 sessions just 1 year ago!
Tsk tsk.

And oh! Regina is from Japan, and their machine is from Italy.
So the quality should be quite good.
Their treatment room is clean, with long drawn curtains and white walls.
No hard-sell, great customer service, no hidden cost.
(I really just paid $128, with GST already included)
There's nothing not to like about it.
Ah, I'm so glad I finally found this (:

This promotion is ending Jan or early Feb 11,
and only available at J8 and Suntec oulets..
So gogogogo if you want to get IPL too! (:

These are a few of my favorite things (:

I'm in an awesome mood right now!
The feeling of purchasing things I like is so good (:
Time to talk about all the loots I'm getting / have gotten

1) Katy Perry OPI Collection

Seriously, I'm liking her more and more (:
Esp after hearing her latest hit "Fireworks"
And it was my favorite countdown to 2011 song
Alongside with Pink's "Raise your glass"

Katy Perry doesn't just stop at good songs!
She's into making great fashion statements too.
Her partnership with OPI has tempted me to finally order OPI nail polishes (:

The blue one is so her..
But I didn't get that one (:
Got both the pinks though, together with the OPI Black Shatter.

Had went to Metro earlier on to try out the colours.
Guess what, the black shatter is already out of stock.
Including the testers.
Yes, people liked it enough to have bought the testers too. lol.

Honestly, I think the OPI black shatter is such a creative idea (:
It gives the 3D effect without going for manicure! lol!
But I thought the effect is rather "dirty-looking"
Maybe they will come up with better, more princessy effects next time. lol!
Well, I'm definitely looking forward to more of similar creations by OPI!
For now, I shall be content with my "Teenage Dream" and "The one that got away". lol!
Even the names are cute (:

Psst, I got the OPI nails at just S$10 each!
Metro retailing at $24.95!
Teaplayground is opening an OPI spree till 16 Jan 11,
so grab the offer while it lasts! (:
And the best part is that the polishes will arrive before CNY!

2) Mcdonalds Miniature Collection

okok. Don't scold me for wasting money please (:
lol! The story goes like this:
I was buying egg mcmuffin this morning for breakfast.
Then I chanced upon this promotion signboard about McD Miniatures

As I was running late for work already (with the long queue),
I just took a quick glance and scooted off to work.
But I wanted to get them so badly that I smsed b to help me find!
In the end, he decided to pop by TPY during lunch to eat Macs with me. lol!
And I managed to buy the full set! (:
Going at $2.50 per miniature,
$25 for the whole set of 6 + a box to put them nicely
(as shown in above pic)
Now that I calculated carefully,
the nice box costs $10?!! lol!
Ok la, I'm still happy with this loot!

Oh, now that I googled it,
Macdonalds actually had a game to give out these minis,
even before they hit the stores today (:
The game is still on till 16 Jan I think.
I just went to try it for fun..
hahah! Quite a good marketing strategy I'd say.
They put much thought into it.

3) LB Cheong Sams

Both white and champagne have reached me! =D
I adjusted the colour to depict the true colors.
The difference isn't that great actually,
just that champagne has this golden sheen.

Colour-wise, I prefer champagne cuz I think it's more unique.
But the thing is, white is of a tighter and better fit!
Champagne is slightly looser if you see and compare the above collage.
Now I don't know which to keep :x

But in all, I must say the material's fab,
and the embossed patterns are really pretty (:
definitely worth the $36 price tag.

On a sidenote,
I didn't get anything from their Orient Collection II today!
*proud
=D

4) My elephants (:

This is just something random. lol!!
But sometimes at work,
I will think of my bed, and my stuffed toys
*sheepish
lol!

That's all for now folks!
(:

Wedding Bells (:

The first grandson to get married at my mum's side (:
Congrats to Jeremy!
Everything was very well planned,
and I think the couple did spent alot of effort to cover every single detail.
Right down to popping confetti at the entrance march (:
lol. I think the bride did most of the planning though..
Heard that she's a very detail-oriented person..

Four Seasons Hotel!
It's real pretty (:
The food was pretty decent, but nothing fantastic.
Apparently, the standards were a far cry from the time they had food tasting.
And there were many technicality problems as well,
such as no music when video was played etc.

I think the couple was slightly dismayed.
Well, if it's me, I would be too.
Especially when Four Seasons costs such a bomb.
The staff there just aren't meticulous enough.

The wedding lasted all the way till 11.45pm
Oh man, just kill me please.
By the time I reached home, it was past midnight.
Plus shower and all, already 1am!
And I'm not the kind that can flop down to bed and just sleep.
Think I only finally got to dreamland at 2am.
Thus waking up at 7am was a killer *roars
Really wonder how I survived today. lol.

Oh mannn..
I think I'm putting on weight especially fast now!
Saturday was the church wedding where there was buffet reception,
Sunday, we had Chinese cuisine when celebrating B's brother's bday,
(think kong ba pau, suckling pig, ngoh hiang)
And a 9-course dinner on Monday during Jeremy's wedding!!
Goodness,
and I just ordered 2 cheongsams from LB.
If I cannot wear them, I'm so going to cry!!
):
Jiaxin, lets faster go back to dance ok!!!!!

Talking about weight,
I think LB's Beatrice has put on quite a bit of weight.
Somehow, she doesn't look as good anymore.
I was comparing last year's cheongsam design
(which she also modelled for)
and this year's design cuz I want to see if there are any differences..
Then I realized Beatrice looked quite different!
Maybe it's the hair,
or the weight,
or just lethargy.
Perhaps all the above. lol.
I feel so sad for her!!
I don't want to be like that too..
*whines*
Jiaxin! Lets go dance soon pul-leeze!!

Ok, enough of whining :p
There's this article from Her World magazine that I've been wanting to share..
Surprise surprise on how a mag's article left such an impact (:
This is the short excerpt on the life of a lady who is turning 50 years old this coming April
Knowing that I'm going to die eventually somehow frees me to live -
I like this sentence the most (:
And I hope to be able to say this with full confidence one day.

2011 is finally here!

2010 came, and it whizzed past.
It has been a tumultuous year,
but it has taught me many life lessons,
many more as compared to the past few years.
Mm.. I'm thinking that I don't want this to become another ranting post..
So I shall post new year resolutions instead.
Resolutions give me a sense of hope,
just hoping they aren't overly optimistic bubbles I entrap myself in.

Resolution 1: Work-related
To seek a career that gives me the sense of satisfaction I crave for.
Paycheck is important, but it isn't everything.
When one door closes, it may not be just another door opening.
It may be many doors opening.
Having learnt my lesson,
I will only settle for a job after careful consideration,
instead of jumping unto the next life buoy that life throws me.
I want to build a career, I don't want just any other job.

Resolution 2: Family-related
To try to be a better daughter.
The above sounds vague, cuz I'm not even that sure how to go about to achieve it.
The thing about growing up is that,
you get more responsibilities and issues in life.
These issues tend to throw life off its equilibrium,
cuz these issues all tend to oppose to each other,
or each demand more of your time and effort than the other.

But balance / compromise has to be drawn somewhere.
But how do I go about doing it?
How much is little?
How much is enough?
I'm still in the midst of finding out.
Whatever it may be,
I think I'd make an effort to notice more of the small things.
Like helping out when I can,
chatting my family people up more etc.

Resolution 3: Love-related
I may not be the hardest girl to please,
but I'm perhaps not the easiest girl around to please either.
Temperamental - that is my weakness which I've known all along.
I can be all chirpy and happy one moment,
yet all upset and bitchy the next when something stepped on my tail.
The one who tends to have to bear the brunt would be the boy.
It's not fair - I know.
But being the person I'm closest to,
I'd definitely turn to him for all things good,
and all things bad.
Maybe I'd do myself and him a favor,
by learning how to manage my own emotions better.

Resolution 4: Friends-related
Friendships with people have dwindled quite a bit..
ever since graduation.
I mean, I got to know new friends through work..
But "old" friendships are important too..
My uni friends are mostly busy with their own work now too.
Now, gatherings are more precious than ever.
And this is the time you know who are the friends who will walk with you thru the years.
In this coming year,
I'll make an effort to meet up with friends more.
Those who smsed me a simple hello,
I would make the effort to meet up and have a proper catch-up.

Resolution 5: Myself
I think "nervous" and "unsettled" are the words to describe how I've been in this year.
Well, on most occasions that is.
I need to let go more, to relax more, to love life more.
I need to pick up on things I used to love.
Be it dance, enjoying a book, making handicrafts.
I need to stop thinking I'm wasting time by doing these things,
for these are the things that I enjoy.
I do not only live for others,
I should start living for myself too.
Been disappointing myself,
only to lead to disappointing others cuz I'm not in the right frame of mind and state.
The only way to stop feeling tired all the time,
is to start living the life I love.
(not at the expense of others of course)

This is the most important lesson I've learnt :)

------

Okays! Having done my resolutions,
I shall squeeze in some details on how I spent my New Year's Eve :)
the boy had wanted to go for countdown on xmas,
but I didn't want to cuz I wasn't well.
So I told him then that we could go for New Year's countdown.
Alas, as I was fretting over an important work task since last week,
I hadn't slept well in the past 3 days.
Even had a horrible headache yday noon.

But I know he kind of wants to go,
and also I think he is making the effort to break the monotony of our activities,
so I went ahead with it.
So I took a short nap at home before meeting him at 5pm.
Had dinner at Marina's Waraku!

After dinner, we proceeded to queue to get inside the Marina Floating Platform
the view of Singapore over there is really fantastic!
Esp with all the wish balls floating on the water :)

The whole concert was pretty good..
Initially I thought the concert will be too long,
cuz it starts at 7.30pm, and lasts all the way till 12am
But it really didnt feel that long (:
Plus the part of having Tao Ze really made the whole atmosphere very festive and high.
Pictures time!

The whole event was fab,
Just that the going home was such a dread.
Anyway, Happy New Year all!!! =D

Hope everyone had enjoyed NYE, no matter how you spent it (:
As long as one is surrounded by loved ones,
NYE has been spent as a fruitful and meaningful one (:

May 2011 bring about more happiness, joy and laughter for all,
and less of unhappiness, sorrow and frowns!

To kickstart things,
I'm looking forward to a big family dinner later (:
My aunt and family came back from Canada for a visit
