Time.

This calendar sits on my office tabletop,
where it has become a morning routine for me to tick off the previous day that had passed.
I still remember telling bb on 1st July 10 that my calendar looked so bare,
as it bore no marking yet then.
As a clean sheet, it bothers me endlessly about how time is passing so slowly.
Look at it now, we're almost going to be done with July.
And before I know it, bb will be back (:
It's fast, I realized.

Time is the harbinger of joy..
and sorrow as well I guess..
It seeps life out of people.
It's a constant countdown to the end of life episodes..

May my granduncle, who has left us at the age of only 59..
finally find peace after his long, heart-wrenching battle with the incurable illness..

He who has gone,
so we but cherish his memory, abides with us,
more potent, nay, more present than the living man.

Vienna International Buffet

Suddenly, I realize that my posts have been pictures heavy of late.
And this one is no exception! haha (:
Went to Vienna International buffet on Sunday
as daddy's early bday celebration (:
The whole place was quite palace-like,
with gold adornment at every turn.
Plus the candeliers too!
But the following pictures are all not taken by myself..
Cuz we didn't bring any camera over =(
So these photos are what I found online, featuring what I had eaten.
Photo credits to vkeong and eateatneate.

The spread of food was not bad,
with fresh seafood, ready cooked food, jap cuisine, teppanyaki etc.

And there was a whole counter dedicated to cakes!
There are other desserts as well,
such as chocolate fondue, ice-cream, jelly in cocktail glasses, red wine!
Only tried the durian cake of the lot, and it was quite good.

The highlight of the buffet for most people has to be the fresh oysters.
But only daddy ate them at our table. lol!

Abalone served in a petite dish with mayo drizzle.
Yummeh! (:

This is the Spanner Crab that's supposed to be quite popular.
But I didn't like the texture of the meat!
Tasted like waxed crab meat somehow..
Dry, quite flaky =x

Well, the slipper lobsters and steamed prawns didn't disappoint though =D
Meat was fresh and I had about 5-8 servings of each. lol.

There were many variations of prawns served there,
such as prawn in fruit sald..

... And cheese-baked prawns!
There were also herbal cooked prawns (which I didnt try)

A whole plateful of food (:
Unagi, Peking duck roll, cha soba, sashimi, sushi rolls, fruit salad etc

oh. How can I forget about the Teppanyaki section!
You just gotta fill a plate with the stuff you want,
tag on a clip found at your table..
And it will be delivered to you when ready (:
Here's salmon, chicken and dory fish!

A pretty photo collage of some food.
The soup is Mini "Buddha Jump Over the Wall". lol!
It tasted.. herbal.. =x

My personal favorite dessert has to be the chocolate fondue!! =D
Whee!

There was this Bird Nest's Egg Tart too that was super good.
But I can't seem to find the picture for it.
It was warm, fluffy texture and slightly sweet w/o being overwhelming.

Glad all of them enjoyed the food!
Nevermind the price tag for now. lol!

Hiphiphooray~ =D

The graduation ceremony...
I'd say that the most apt words are...
It started with a BANG

And ended with a Boom! lol!

Ok. Actually only the boom part was right.
Silver confetti burst out before the whole bunch of orange and blue balloons came floating down
But the start was rather solemn, with this marching song where all the VIPs strode in.
I like the effect of the balloons streaming down though..
Felt very dramatic and a pretty majestic sight to behold.

Oh, look (:
This was my turn at receiving my degree scroll.
I was so afraid I would have a mishap such as falling down on stage
cuz I was wearing a new pair of heels that are 3.5inches high.. =/
Not very high heels, but considered high for me. lol.

With that, I'm officially part of the AlumNUS: Class of 2010!

I like this pic (:
Feels like a picture you'd depict in a flyer of sorts. lol!
Like I can imagine the header to be "Welcome to NUS Alumni"

My family came..
Even my grandma, my fav uncle and aunt came!
So here's a nice pic of them (except my bro who was the photographer)

And now you see my brother in this family pic (:

Here's another one of him and me.
I think he carries the bear so much more nicely than I do.
Under my "care", my bear would either have a messy robe or be dangling sadly =(
Poor bear.

Here's one of my favorite pics! (:
Shuxuan and I without the big squarish mortar boards on.
This was taken before the ceremony, when my hair was still nice and not flat..

Group pics!
This is one rare group pic I had..
Missed out on the D*pressed pic and I ended up being tagged as the Grad Bear on fb..
Missed out on the pysch clique picture as well ):
But I had my family to attend to mostly.. So well..
that didn't leave me with much time to hang around friends.
Quite a pity.. But nvm!
I shall be contented with what I have (:

Another group pic (:

Did up collages for the pictures I took with some friends!
Not all are in, cuz it's hard of hard to match the right kind of photos together..
Some look weird when put together with other pics..
Kind of hard to explain why..

Oh! Eddie's gotta be one of my best lecturers ever!
And he remembers us all by our names (:
So hard to come by actually..
Guess what, he was the ex-classmate of my current supervisor.. haha (:
Such a small small world..

Ok.... Now to the crazier moments.

Jumpshot! hahahhaha =D
I like natural expressions~
This one is pretty nice, but it took so many shots just to get a nice one.. lol!
The rest are all so unglam!

I like this too.. But the jump isn't too high.. haha
Poor bear!

And not forgetting the classic move of every graduate:
the toss of the mortar board to signify "hooray, graduate alr!!!" =D

Shall end off with not so hyper shots of myself (:

And here's the last pic I took for the day.
And my personal favorite of the lot too (:
Goodbye NUS.
I loved you and will always remember the undergraduate days fondly..
I missed you since the day I stepped out..
Oh wells, the only thing I can look forward to now is a good head start in my career
with whatever NUS lecturers have imparted to me..

I may not be able to remember all my lecture notes' information,
but there's one thing I will always keep in mind.
It will be Eddie's words about how we should never take things as they are,
about how we should always question and to explore alternatives..
If not, our minds will die a slow death, and we'll be nothing more than a number.

I miss debating with my lecturers and
I miss writing essays which didn't have a distinct right or wrong.
It's all grey.. And it's when your opinion matters a hell lot.
In the working arena, there's always a standard template.
"Look for the standard paper."- they say
But it's so against my education background..

I'm sure you guys will be able to tell by now,
how unwilling I am to graduate..
Not like I have a choice..
lol.

Surprise to burst Tuesday Blues

This bunch of surprise and joy came with love from the boy today (:
Imagine my surprise when the flower delivery man plonk the flowers onto my table
and happily announcing that they belong to Ms Eileen Goh. lol.
Ok. I was like some idiot who took a few seconds to register the news.

To the boy:  It's ok that you can't attend my commencement..
We already expected it, didn't we?

This bundle of joy just made my day!
Now I'm fretting about how to make sure the flowers stay pretty (:
Good luck for exams b!

Graduation Ceremony

Graduated already! (:

It was indeed a special day, graced by my parents, relatives and friends.
Right now, I can't seem to think of anything else but the fact tt I'm no longer a student.
But I'm not emo-ing or whatsoever.
Maybe just a lil worn out from all the frenzy earlier on.
Will upload more pics when I've gotten the remaining from friends (:

To the class of 2010, we're now done with school!
