Day 2 in Hong Kong

Day 2 was Tsim Sha Tsui Day.
The weather was lovely, cloudless but without any strong sunlight.
We kicked off the day with a good hearty breakfast at Australian Dairy Company (:
Was really looking forward to this breakfast cuz of the many online raves.
Apparently the scrambled eggs are heavenly (and yes, they were!)

The queue was pretty short when we got there,
maybe cuz we went early (:
When we left, there was a rather long queue.
One funny thing that occurred was the conversation with the waiter:
Waiter : 早餐鸡蛋煎蛋蛋?
We finally learnt that the jian dan is sunny side up, chao dan is scrambled eggs.
heh.

The scrambled eggs and buttered toast were so good.
If this store open doors in Singapore, I think it's my favorite breakfast place!
But I didn't really like the macaroni, too bland for my tastebuds. lol.
Only ate the ham slices in the end :x
The steamed milk pudding was chilled, and it was pretty alright.
Sweet, and a little powdery.
In hindsight, I believe the hot version might have suited me better :P

After the breakfast, we left for Langham Place and reached around 10.15am.
Guess we were too early cuz none of the shops were open!
Here I am, waiting for H&M in Langham Place to open doors :P

When the shuttles of the H&M store finally rolled up,
everyone practically rushed inside. haha!
Even though this store wasn't very big,
but the variety of clothes were good.
Managed to get a dress from myself :D
And Jiaxin got a work skirt for herself too :)

When we were more or less done with Langham Place,
we took our hotel's shuttle to China Hong Kong City (CHKC).
This is the place where we got our Macau Ferry tickets :)
This place is an Outlet heaven too, just look at the picture below to see what I mean.

The Esprit Outlet was quite big!
And we managed to get some tops for our family members :D
Here are a few other random shots I got:

The cute Panda Biscuits from Kee Wah.

Adorable Hello Kitty Dolls from this shop called Okashi Land.
I bought 2 Hello Kitty Dolls in the end :D
They were HK$19 each I think.
Hello Calbee and Panda Kitties! :P

If my memory didn't fail me,
I think I was lugging quite a bit of loots,
as I had also gone to Bonjour to buy my Shiseido White Lucent Softener.
Ohoh, I must say.. It was so cheap!
I got the 140ml bottle at just HK$312 (S$52).
It's retailing in Singapore for about $70?
Was so happy with this buy!
But after 2 - 3 hours of walking around with it and my other loots,
my shoulders were giving way already.
So Jiaxin and I took the hotel shuttle back to our hotel to put down our stuff.
We took a short break too, before hopping out to shop again. hehe.

If you look at this picture above carefully, you will realize I changed shoes! :P
Thought sandals would be more comfortable to walk in.
But in hindsight, I was wrong.
The golden flats I was wearing were nicer to walk in.

So after resting in the hotel for a short while,
we proceeded to find Charlie Brown Cafe in Tsim Sha Tsui.
We were saying we must find it,
esp after the failure to eat at Toilet Cafe the previous day. lol.
And here we are!

I had ordered the beef burger set.
It was alright, I guess (:
Comfort food as such seldom go wrong.
We were very entertained by the Snoopy cartoon screened on the tv though.
Do you guys know how did Charlie adopt Snoopy? (:
And how was Snoopy like when he was a puppy at Charlie's place? (:

After dinner, we took a bus down to the Avenue of Stars.
It was only a small drizzle when we got to Snoopy Place for dinner,
but it was pouring when we left the restaurant.
As we still had a little time on hand, we shopped for a while at TST Sogo,
which was near the Avenue of Stars.
And I was so happy to finally find a flawless Long Champ bag for my mum.
At the Causeway Bay Sogo on Day 1,
the 3 bags shown to me had very obvious flaws that I couldn't overlook.
Was so glad to find a good quality piece in TST Sogo.
I got it for HK$720 (S$120), and to think this design is retailing at $195 in Singapore!

As it was raining throughout the Symphony of Lights show,
I wasn't in the mood to take out my camera to snap pictures.
Plus I was carrying an umbrella and my shopping bag. lol.
But overall, I did enjoy the show (:
It was basically a lights show, where these lights were emitted from tall business buildings.
Somehow, I can imagine this being done in Singapore too.
And it struck me on how the Hong Kong landscape resembles Singapore.
That area was just like Singapore's City Hall. lol!
(Maybe the resemblance of Sg and Hk was the reason why I didn't feel homesick in Hk. :P)

When the show was over,
we headed back to TST Sogo to shop somemore before calling it a day!
It was mask night for us as our skin felt really dry. lol!
Here's a peek at my luggage at the end of Day 2. hee :)

Day 1 in Hong Kong!

First Trip to HK!
Was so excited that I couldn't slp during the 4 hours flight.
Honestly speaking, I was having the jitters. lol.
Here's us at Changi's Departure Area, all ready to board our plane at 6.30am.

This photo below is taken when we were reaching Hong Kong.
The sunrise is so pretty (:

Upon reaching Hong Kong, and clearing all the customs,
we did all the admin things first.
We bought the MTR Pass, Disney 1 day pass & Dining coupon and my SIM card (:
Then proceeded to lock our luggages up in Arrival Hall, and off to Tung Chung Citygate Mall!

We took Bus S1 to Citygate Mall, and the ride was about 15 minutes.
Here's what we saw upon arrival :D

Shopping in Citygate Mall felt like a whirl to me.
It's all brands I like, and I don't know where to start! :D
But our fav had to be Coach and Kate Spade. hehe.

After a good 2 -3 hours shopping,
I got 2 Coach wristlets, and Jx got 1 Coach Tote for herself :)
We kind of concluded that the Coach outlet was better than Kate Spade.
Cuz Kate Spade's outlet didn't really carry alot of products,
and the offer wasn't really worth it.
Hehe, below are my 2 loots after 20% and 30% discount respectively
(but neither are mine. hehe)

Thereafter, we headed back to airport to pick our luggages up,
and took the shuttle bus back to our hotel.
This shuttle bus doesn't just cater to our hotel, but rather a few hotels.
So the first stop was at this very glamorous hotel where 2 korean girls dropped off.
I think it was L'Nina Hotel or something along that line.
Then we were praying ours would be decent too.
But the bus driver dropped us at this car garage lookalike place,
and we were like "what?! this is our hotel?" lol!
But he pointed us to a nearby direction, and we lugged our luggages over.
Thankfully, the hotel looks like how I've seen in pictures
(and not some ulu car garage lookalike place).

The staff from Cosmo Mongkok Hotel were really really really very nice.
There was this staff called Sophia Jung who can speak several languages,
and besides giving us a really warm reception,
she gave us a short introduction to Hong Kong's attractions and what's nearby. :D
The bellboys were also really prompt to handle our luggages,
and brought them up very fast.
I guess this boutique hotel really focuses alot on excellent customer service.
No wonder it's gaining so much buzz online :D

After oohing and ahhing in our room, we took the hotel's free shuttle to Kowloon MTR.
From there, we took the MTR to Causeway Bay :D
Upon reaching, we scouted around for the Toilet Cafe for our dinner plans.
Alas, the restaurant had shut down. All across Hong Kong :(
Being terribly hungry, we just settled with any food.
There was this Japanese Curry Place at Causeway Bay Sogo, so we settled with that.
We practically wolfed down our food. haha.

Thereafter, we just shopped around Causeway Bay Sogo,
and even got to check out the Sasa that's opposite Sogo :)
Guess what, we found Hui Lau Shan at nearby as well :D
That was indeed the happy food of the day; Mango Sago Dessert.
It was super yummy :D

Here's the pretty bracelet I got for my aunt from Sasa!
I can't remember if I got masks from Sasa on Day 1,
but I did get them for use in HK cuz the air was so dryyy. lol!

We went back to hotel, tired but satisfied (:
That spells end of Day 1 for us!
Day 2 - Tsim Sha Tsui will be up soon! :D

birds of a feather flock together.

Been having an awesome time since I got back to Singapore.
There was the boy's birthday party.
The yacht party didn't manage to happen cuz of the erratic weather,
and the captain advised us to postpone the party.
Held it at the boy's house instead (:
All the pics are with his friend,
and I only have the pic of his bday cupcakes.
Very cute, aren't they? :))
*sugar overdose from these cupcakes though

We had marinated the beef steaks with this CPL brand of Korean Bulgogi sauce,
and the steaks turned out really gooddd!
Some of his pals found the meat to be a little too over-flavored,
perhaps cuz we had marinated it for 2 days. lol!
I think if it was marinated for 1 day, the effect would have been the best.
The honeyed chicken steaks turned out great too :)
Now I really realized how the marinade sauce makes a big difference in food :D

In terms of work, we are all slowly adapting to our new boss R.
Then yday, another bomb just dropped down.
My deputy director is transferring out too. *faint.
This means we have to adapt to 2 new bosses instead of just 1.
sigh. All these changes are too fast.
I'm very much inclined to run away from all these.
Went to "babysit" my kids from a secondary school today.
It was a real joy to watch them learn to dance :)
They will be putting up a performance for a major company event this Nov.
Initially, I had my reservations about how this will pan out,
but looking at the bunch of 14 year olds,
their enthusiasm, their laughter, their efforts,
I know this will work out, even with the short time frame given.

This kind of gave me back my confidence and the will to fight on in this unit.
It made me recall why I had wanted to join this department from the very start,
and why this unit had made me so happy.
Even with the drastic changes in the management team,
the work itself should remain unchanged.
So, I will stay on to do what I love,
I just have to fight my way out of the red tape. lol.

Alrighto, I'm signing out.
Had a very bad night of insomnia yesterday.
Please let me sleep well tonight (:
TGIF ppl!

Keeping you close in my prayers.

Life is really on a roll right now :)
There are so many things happening,
and I was thinking it would be such a pity if I don't blog about em now.
Jiaxin and Yenlin are busily preparing for the big wedding now!
It's so fun to chip in some of my own ideas as well :D
Hopefully the Hen's Night will be great fun,
and that we will have a lovely memorable wedding for our dearest girlfriend :)
Hope my chinese speaking skills won't fail me on the actual day though!
Very much looking forward to being a bridesmaid cuz it's my very first time :D
It's truly amazing to witness how far friends are willing to go to help a pal.
The amount of effort I feel from Jiaxin in planning for the wedding really touched me.
And I'm happy to say that I stand corrected,
to know that there are friendships which will always be rock solid. :)

Saw on FB that a friend got married (also HS's friend! so coincidental)
Plus, he married an ex-school mate of mine somemore!
It is really a small world afterall *sings :D
Was really surprised cuz there wasn't any news on it at all,
then suddenly his wedding photos just appeared on FB! :D
So I only got to congratulate him after his wedding.
Really happy and emotional that so many of my pals are getting married.
A scroll down my FB updates today showed me photos of 4 different weddings,
be it friends attended other ppls' weddings, or it's friends' weddings.
We're all at the age of marrying already..
Time really flies.
Now I really hope that my girl pal can find her knight in shining amour soon :)
I've been keeping her in my thoughts,
and really hope very much her special one will appear soon.

------

Other than this big wedding,
I'm also in the midst of preparing for B's bday celebration
It's this Friday!!!!
Luckily the food fare is simple (bbq),
and that the number of invitees is small (quota given by yacht company is 10)
But I won't have minded if they had allowed 20 ppl,
cuz there are ppl whom B & I really wanted to invite as well.
Hmm.. but the yacht company isn't even willing to let an 11th person up.
Oh wells, I hope the weather would be great for us to get out to the sea!
And guess what, his friends are really fantastic pals as well.
1 couple and 1 pal took leave from their work on Friday just so they can be present at 6pm.
I feel truly amazed, humbled and blessed to have experienced how friendships work wonders :))

------

As I'm counting my blessings tonight,
I thought it's apt to share this as well :)
It's a simple designed ring;
yet it reflects our relationship perfectly :)

I really think this year has been really kind to me.
All the wishes I set for this year are all coming true.
I became closer to my parents and got to shower them with more attention,
my friendships grew stronger and I made new good friends,
I found work that is much more fulfilling and suitable.
And to be showered with much love from my special someone :)
Can anyone be any one more blessed than this? :)

Your love puts me at the top of the world.

Back from a lovely trip to Hong Kong :D
It was definitely an exciting and memorable past 10 days,
with the much built-up anxiety and excitement.

Hong Kong:
The never-ending shopping paradise in the malls and dingy streets,
the thousands of steps we walk each day,
the super delicious and cheap dim sum which we can't help but gush at,
the Scale 8 Typhoon Nesat which we encountered,
and the happiness when we heard Disney Park will open after the typhoon passed.
And the heavy bags full of loots we lug back each day. lol!

This post will serve as a teaser :)
The full post will be uppp after I get the pics from Jx :))

I love Disneyland!!!

Last but not least as to why the past 10 days has been so exciting..
I'm delighted to announce that....
I'm engaged! :))))
It was a terribly sweet proposal,
but shall spare you guys my mushinessss (for now :P). lol!

Till the next post, have a lovely Sunday ppl!
I'm definitely feeling at the top of the world and feeling very very blessed! :)
May more good things roll around the corner for all of us :))

HKG, here we come!

I'm really going to Hong Kong already!! :D
Can hardly wait!
But there is a tinge in me that's a bit scared.
Afterall, we are 2 girls travelling all by overselves.
If we get kidnapped or smth, please come and save us. lol!

I'm on leave today, and quite alot of last minute things happened at work yday.
My covering officer will be quite poor thing cuz of the delays caused by vendors :(
But nonetheless, she told me not to worry..
and to enjoy my long-awaited-for holiday! :D

Kicked off the holiday mood with watching Johnny English Reborn yday night with momsie!
It's rare of her to request me to bring her to the movies,
so obviously I'm more than thrilled to bring her :)
We were laughing like mad throughout the movie (esp momsie). lol!
I think I've seen funnier movies than this,
but overall, well, Rowan Atkinson is just one of a kind :)
His humor is not easily replicable by anyone else. lol!

Slept in this morning, and woke up to tidy up my packing.
Just left with make-up and chargers to go.
Plus, the web check-in & we're all set to go! :D
Also settled a few payments this morning,
pertaining to the boy's 25th bday celebration!
Can hardly wait for it to happen too! :D
I hope his engine friends will be on time for the celebration..
given that it's going to be on a Friday evening,
I can only pray that the traffic won't be that mad. lol!
oki dokey! It's an exciting period now,
and I can practically bounce off walls :)

Do you feel my excitement already? :D

Halloween Disney!

It's official!!
We are going to get Halloween Disneyland :D
And guess what, Halloween Disney starts on 22 Sep,
so Jiaxin and I will be experiencing Halloween Disney in its first week :D
Hope it's good and not crowded.
And please don't take away the cute souvenirs! :x
